Thank you for supporting the Indy! While Brown covers most of our weekly operating costs, as an organization, we rely on fundraising for two critical components of our paper: off-campus distribution and stipends for low-income staff members. Below, we explain how to support both of these causes.

  1. Off-campus distribution is a cornerstone of what we do here at the Indy; we are committed being a paper that is relevant to readership beyond Brown's campus. Spreading our work around Providence makes sure our reporting reaches the people for whom it has the most direct impact. In turn, it helps keep our writing accountable to a wider audience. To support this critical commitment, we are selling tote bags (pictured above) for $15 pick-up in Providence and $20 by mail. Order yours today with this order form and you'll look fashionable while supporting local, community-focused journalism!

  3. The Indy is also fundraising to pay low income staff members for their work on the paper. Being a writer, designer, editor, or illustrator for our paper is a serious time commitment, and many low income students can not participate due to other jobs. Students are currently receiving funding through this fellowship program, but we are working to make the program sustainable. Help us by donating to this fellowship program, and ensure that any student can contribute to our publication, regardless of socioeconomic status. Donations in any amount are welcome. Donations are tax-deductible and can be made through this link.

Donations can also be made by mailing a check, which should be payable to Brown University, and should specify in the memo field that they are intended for the College Hill Independent. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions or for more information. The mailing address is:
