WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? / WALKABOUT

The Dovers were a California garage rock-pop band of the mid 1960s.  This song, “What Am I Going To Do?” was released as a single for Miramar records in 1965. The Dovers are revered among collectors for having released some of the finest singles in the ’60s garage-pop style.  The best of their songs combine Beatles/Byrds-influenced guitars, melodies, and vocals with a distinctively angsty, messy, teen garage sound.

Atlas Sound sampled the riff for their song “Walkabout” featuring Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox on their 2009 album, Logos.
